What we do
-
Work for Kiwirrkurra People
We are the PBC for the Kiwirrkurra Native Title Determination Area. We hold Kiwirrkurra People’s Native Title Rights and Interests on trust for them and it is our role to talk with them about activities (mainly mining) that affect those rights and interests.
We hold leases for the Aboriginal Reserves within the Native Title area and want to be a one-stop shop for people who want to come onto the country.
We talk up strong for Kiwirrkurra People’s rights and interests and try to help them further their social, cultural and economic aspirations.
-
Land management
We manage our country as an Indigenous Protected Area, keeping it strong and healthy for the next generation. The Kiwirrkurra Rangers and Mantjuntu Rangers keep the land healthy, look after the animals and plants and teach people about the country.
-
Services we provide to others
Heritage services
We represent Kiwirrkurra People’s interests in looking after country when mining companies want to look around. Our old people show them where they can and where they can’t go.
Cultural education
We teach outsiders about our community, culture and country. We introduce them to country and educate them on how to show respect.
